This weekend we have in town Nordic festival, where you can be part of debates, watch movies and buy books from Nordic writers.

For Iceland we have the following events :

Film Screening: "Driving Mum", on Saturday, February 15, at 14:00, at Cinema Elvire Popesco.

Film Screening and Discussion: "Solitude", followed by a discussion with the director Ninna Pálmadóttir, on Saturday, February 15, at 18:30, at Cinema Elvire Popesco.

(in English) Debate: "Vernacular Architecture in the Modern Era" featuring Sigurjón B. Hafsteinsson and Paula Popoiu, on Friday, February 14, at 14:00, at POINT. Free admission.

the Translator's Bookshelf is a special edition event dedicated to Nordic languages, organized by Cărturești in partnership with the Nordic Festival. Scheduled for Friday, February 14, 2025, at 7:00 PM, at Cărturești Verona, the event features translators Andreea Niță, Georgiana Bozîntan, Irina Marinescu Bergmann, Ivona Berceanu, and Iulia Dromereschi, with moderation by Simina Popa. Free admission

(in Romanian) Literature Discussion and Book Launch: "Literature of the Fjords: Between the Sky and Earth of Iceland in the Novels of Jón Kalman Stefánsson" with Dana Pîrvan and Magda Răduță, moderated by Alina Purcaru, on Saturday, February 15, at 13:00, at Cărturești Verona. This session will also feature the launch of the latest Romanian translation of Jón Kalman Stefánsson's novel, "Your Absence is Darkness". Free admission
