Dear ladies,

The National Museum of Romanian Literature has the pleasure of inviting you Saturday, 18 January 2025, at 17.00, to the opening of Poricale exhibition made by Atelierul de Porțelan, brand set-up by the artist Mihaela Cherciu in 2015.

The Poricale (poame) exhibition is inspired by the natural environment – various types of fruit, made of porcelain using various techniques, glazed and painted with colloidal gold and platinum, thus becoming objects of wearable art. The compositions presented in the exhibition bring to mind the still lifes of Caravaggio, Gustave Courbet, Claude Monet or Paul Cezanne.

The exhibition will be open from January 15 to February 2, 2025, at the NMLR headquarters in Nicolae Crețulecu Street 8, and can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Mihaela Cherciu graduated from the Bucharest National University of Arts in 1998, at the textile-clothing design department, and worked both as an independent artist (tapestry, painting), and as a scenographer, stylist, in the specialized media, later as a gallerist and, in the last ten years, as a ceramist. In 2018 and 2021, she won two design competitions organized by the Cotroceni National Museum, within the Creative Centenary project, with the works Cocarda Junilor and Inima României Mari.

We are waiting for you!
