Join us for a celebration of summer solstice, Romanian style, with music, exhibitions, workshops and stories, hosted in an enchanting garden!
Host: The non-profit Asociația Patrimoniu pentru Viitor (Heritage for the Future), which works to preserve and promote Romanian cultural heritage, the material and immaterial national cultural heritage.
Who: Everyone! All IWA members, families and friends are invited by IWA founding member and the President of Asociația Patrimoniu pentru Viitor, Georgiana Pogonaru
Dress code: White and Yellow if possible Cost: free
The evening program includes music, the Dance of Sânzienelor, stories, exhibitions of Romanian heritage and more. Children will express their creativity during dedicated workshops, all in a story setting.
Every year, at the time of the summer solstice, Romanians celebrate the arrival of the Sânzienelor (Romanian fairies that in folk traditions are believed to arrive with gifts of cure, useful things and love). Because the habits related to Sânziene are lost in the darkness of the times, the Association proposed the reintegration of this celebration into the urban culture.
